Bad Weather Protocol

by Megan on January 16, 2012

I hope you all have enjoyed our first snow of the year! It looks as if we are in for a few more days of snow so I wanted to review our bad weather protocol so we can all communicate well and ensure all of your pets are well taken care of.

  • Pets whose parents are out of town and are under the care of South Sound Hounds will be given first priority of the day to ensure that they get their basic needs met before mid-day regular walks begin. WE WILL NOT LEAVE YOUR PET UNVISITED IF YOU ARE OUT OF TOWN. We have many resources to get us to them and will walk to your home if needed.
  • If you are signed up for a daily dog walk and do not go to work for the day and do not need our services for the day PLEASE contact us (253-363-2868 /info@southsoundhounds.com) as soon as possible. We will use that time elsewhere to cover other walks and visits. If you do not contact us before we arrive you will be charged for the visit.
  • We will let you know immediately if we are going to be delayed significantly to your scheduled service due to weather issues. PLEASE let us know immediatley if you would like to cancel the service for the day due to the delay or if we should continue to try to get to your home for the visit.
  • If you are stranded away from home due to the bad weather (Remember I-5 gridlock last year?) and need us to stop in and provide basic needs for your pet (out to potty, feed, water, warmth) let us know immediately and we will do everything in our power to get to your pet.
